Glacier Girl getting new Engines in Goose Bay
Glacier Girl as you have probably heard, had a cylinder sleeve crack requiring Steve to return to
Goose bay before finishing her mission. The P-51 Mustang Miss Velma continued on with Ed Shipley at the helm and

National Championship Reno Air Races 2005
We had a great time at the Reno Air Races this past September.
We were fortunate enough to be associated with Dan Martin's Ridge Runner, the fastest "stock"
mustang. Somehow they allowed us to install a flying Lost Squadron billboard with the sticker
spanning nearly from wingtip to wingtip.
Our friends from the Planes of Fame had a good view of our high speed billboard from the
Lady Jo / Pace plane pit. Luckily most of the sticker passed the 400+ kt speed test. With each run,
we trimmed more and more off the sticker until only the most tenacious portions of the billboard remained.
Qualifying third in the gold, we became the only mustang racing in the main event with "Voodoo" and
"Strega" sitting it out due to mechanicals.
On Saturday, a cracked header tank and some other issues on Ridge Runner led to the installation
of Strega's prop and spinner, to be tested on Race day. (Thanks for the loan guys.)
Sunday, Dan had a strong start in the Gold, settling into third from the start as Rare Bear led Brian
Sanders in Dreadnought. On the second lap, Ridge Runner moved into second place. It looked
great for a moment until a burned piston facilitated an early departure from the race. It was a great
run.
We sold our new gear which Debuted at Oshkosh '05 along with the official race crew shirts for the
Ridge Runner team. Astute Lost Squadrophiles discovered the new Aircraft Records shirt designed by us.
